Minimum Version Required: 26.01
Pre-Conditions
Must be accessing the application via a supported, up-to-date web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari).
Requires an active and stable internet connection to ensure complete data payloads can be retrieved from backend APIs.
Must have appropriate user access permissions to load the specific page, dashboard, or module where the error is occurring.
Steps
Perform a Hard Refresh: Clear your browser's cache for the page (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to ensure you are loading the most recent frontend application code and not relying on stale, cached files.
Verify Data State: Log out of the application completely and log back in. This will force a refresh of your user session and securely reload your localized data, which can resolve temporary missing data values.
Check for Missing Fields: If this error occurs on a customizable page or report, verify that all requested fields, columns, and array indexes are spelled correctly and currently exist in the active schema.
Isolate the Trigger: Slowly replicate the workflow that causes the error. Note whether the error appears immediately upon page load (indicating an asynchronous loading or race condition issue) or after a specific button click or data entry.
Contact Support: If the issue persists after attempting the steps above, please contact our support team. To ensure efficient troubleshooting, explicitly gather and provide the following information:
Exact error messages or codes encountered (including any full red text or stack traces shown on screen).
Screenshots or video recordings of the issue occurring.
Log files (specifically, export the Console logs and Network HAR files from your browser's Developer Tools).
The exact steps taken by the customer that led to the issue (e.g., "Logged in, clicked 'Reports', selected 'June', clicked 'Export'").
The date and time the issue was first observed and any recurrence.
Any changes made to the system (e.g., recent software updates, custom field additions, or network changes) before the issue appeared.
Fields And Definitions
TypeError: A runtime error that occurs when an operation is performed on a value of the wrong type.
Undefined: A programming state indicating that a variable, object, or data payload does not currently possess a value. The application is trying to read data that does not exist or has not arrived yet.
Asynchronous Loading: A process where the application interface continues to render and function while waiting for background data to load.
API (Application Programming Interface): The system that allows the frontend interface to request and retrieve the necessary data from the backend server.
Race Condition: An anomaly where the system attempts to perform two or more operations at the same time, but the operations must be done in the proper sequence to work correctly (e.g., the screen trying to draw a chart before the API has finished supplying the chart data).
Schema: The structured framework or blueprint that defines how data fields are named and organized in the database.
Best Practices
Maintain Stable Connectivity: Network interruptions can cause API responses to drop, leading to incomplete data payloads that render as "undefined." Ensure a stable connection when accessing complex dashboards.
Regular Cache Clearing: Periodically clear your browser cache and cookies to prevent outdated application scripts from conflicting with newly deployed server updates.
Audit Custom Configurations: When renaming fields or adjusting database schemas, audit all linked frontend reports and modules to ensure references are updated to match the new nomenclature, preventing misspelled code parameters.
Keep Browsers Updated: Always use the latest version of your web browser to ensure full compatibility with modern JavaScript asynchronous rendering lifecycles.
