Best Practices
Trigger Recalculation Hooks: Always ensure that when line items are deleted or edited, the invoice is saved properly to force header total recalculation hooks.
Consistent Tax and Freight Application: Verify that tax, freight, or discount elements are applied consistently across calculation engines to avoid discrepancies.
Monitor Rounding and Precision: Be aware that line-level mathematical rounding differences can compound at the header level. Similarly, monitor for currency exchange rate translation or precision truncation mismatches.
Ensure Full Transactional Updates: Partial transactional updates that fail can leave the header and lines permanently out of sync; ensure your network connection and system states are stable when saving edits.
