Minimum Version Required: 26.07
Pre-Conditions
A record must exist for the Location in the Auto Run Apply Pick Rules setup table, with Run Apply Pick Rule checked. Locations without a record, or with the checkbox off, are skipped entirely.
The Location must have its Business Days calendar set up, since the task uses business days (not calendar days) to decide which Load Sheet dates to include.
At least one Route Type and one Customer Pick Type must be linked to the setup record — only Load Sheets matching one of these combinations are picked up automatically.
Steps
Auto Apply Pick Rules (Scheduled Task)
Auto_Run_ApplyPickRules is a background task that runs automatically on your system's scheduler. It doesn't require anyone to click anything — it exists so your warehouse team doesn't have to manually run Apply Pick Rules on every upcoming Load Sheet. Here is what happens each time it runs:
The task checks the Auto Run Apply Pick Rules setup table for any Location where Run Apply Pick Rule is turned on.
For each of those locations, it looks ahead the number of business days set in Days In Advance to find upcoming delivery dates, based on the location's Business Days calendar.
It finds all Load Sheets for those dates that have not yet reached Loaded status, and narrows the list to the Route Types and Customer Pick Types configured on that location's setup record.
For each matching Load Sheet, the task runs Apply Pick Rules automatically — the same process a warehouse user would run by hand. This assigns the correct pick method (pallet, layer, case, or bottle) to each product on the order and generates the Pick Sheets the warehouse uses to pick it.
If a Load Sheet is already being processed — by this task or by a user — it's skipped for that run rather than processed twice.
Fields And Definitions
*Location - The location this automatic rule applies to. Each location has its own setup record.
*Run Apply Pick Rule - Turns the automatic scheduled run on or off for this location. If unchecked, the location is skipped entirely.
*Days In Advance - How many upcoming business days of Load Sheets the task should look at each time it runs, based on the location's Business Days calendar.
Route Types - The Route Types whose Load Sheets should be included. Only Load Sheets on a matching route type are processed.
Customer Pick Types - The Customer Pick Types whose orders should be included. Only invoices for customers with a matching pick type are processed.
Best Practices
This task only touches Load Sheets that haven't reached Loaded status yet, so it's safe to leave running — it will never re-pick an order that's already loaded.
If results look incomplete, check the location's Business Days calendar and the Route Types/Customer Pick Types linked on its setup record — Load Sheets that don't match are skipped by design, not by error.
You can still run Apply Pick Rules manually on a Load Sheet at any time — it won't conflict with this task, since the system locks a Load Sheet while it's being processed so it isn't picked twice at once.
