Pre-Conditions
OrderIQ must be active and enabled in your environment.
Campaign configuration records must be set up with a target Customer ID, Campaign Type (New Placement), Product ID, Case Goal, Start Date, and End Date.
Customers must have eligible stops or events scheduled during the campaign's delivery week.
Steps
OrderIQ allows you to seamlessly integrate strategic sales initiatives, such as new product launches or inventory pushes, directly into your automated ordering process. By establishing campaign goals, OrderIQ automatically adjusts its predictive recommendations to help fulfill your business objectives without manual intervention.
How New Placement Campaigns Work:
Target Identification: The system evaluates if the product is a "New Placement," meaning the customer has no historical purchase records for that product prior to the campaign's Start Date.
Quantity Calculation: OrderIQ calculates the necessary order quantity by taking your overall case goal and subtracting any successful purchases made during the active campaign window. Returns or negative quantities are ignored and do not reduce the remaining target goal.
AI Optimization: The campaign goal acts as a minimum baseline. OrderIQ compares the remaining campaign goal against its own AI-predicted demand. If the AI predicts a higher quantity is needed, the system will recommend the higher AI quantity. If the AI predicts a lower quantity, the system defaults to the campaign goal to ensure your promotional targets are prioritized.
Delivery Prioritization: OrderIQ targets the customer's primary delivery day to fulfill the campaign goal. On this day, it attempts to recommend the maximum possible quantity needed. If the goal is not met in a single delivery, the remaining quantity is distributed across other eligible delivery days within the campaign timeframe.
Fields And Definitions
New Placement: A campaign configuration targeting customers who have not previously purchased a specific product. Any purchases made specifically during the campaign window count toward the goal and do not disqualify the placement.
Campaign Goal: The target minimum quantity (measured in cases) that you aim to distribute to a specific customer within the defined Start and End Dates.
Primary Delivery Day: The prioritized day of the week (configured in the customer's stop settings) when OrderIQ will focus on pushing the campaign product. If no primary day is explicitly flagged, the system defaults to the first eligible delivery day of the week.
Best Practices
Maintain Accurate Unit Configurations: Campaign goals are defined in "cases," but the final automated orders are placed in base units. Ensure the "Units per Case" configuration for your campaign products is completely accurate to prevent over-ordering or under-ordering.
Define Primary Delivery Days: To ensure the most efficient distribution of campaign products, always designate a "primary delivery day" in your customers' stop settings. This ensures the bulk of the placement goal lands on the most optimal day.
Leverage AI Upside: Allow the system to work for you; because the campaign goal acts as a minimum floor, you will never miss your target, but you can still capitalize on increased demand if the OrderIQ AI identifies that a customer can absorb a higher quantity.
