Steps
Encompass has developed a guided picking experience called ePick+ for users on a digital device. This guide will walk you through its features and how to use them.
What is ePick+?
ePick+ is a digital solution for picking that integrates with handheld devices, allowing for a guided picking experience. It replaces older methods like paper picking and brings warehouse processes into a digital age. The tool offers more robust functionality, including an updated visual experience and simplified workflows.
Legacy vs. ePick+: The original tool, ePick (formerly Voice Pick), is being phased out. With the 25.09 release, ePick Legacy is no longer a supported tool, and Support will recommend using ePick+ to resolve any issues. In 25.10, ePick Legacy can still be accessed via custom Mobile Links, but will not be displayed in the Default view of Encompass Mobile. ePick Legacy will be removed from the system entirely in 26.01.
Though no additional training is needed for ePick+ as the workflow is designed to be as similar as possible to the legacy version, this article serves as an overview of the tool, and reviews the most notable differences.
Goals and Motivations: The development of ePick+ was driven by four key goals:
Modernize: Provide an updated, intuitive look with critical information presented upfront.
Streamline and Focus: Adjust settings and processes to reduce unnecessary steps and confusion.
Diversify: Built on a new code structure, ePick+ allows access on a wider range of devices, including Android (e.g., Zebra WS50) in addition to iOS.
Safeguard: Most changes in the new code structure do not require a new mobile app version, which makes it easier to implement changes and release them at a quicker rate.
ePick+ Exclusive Features and How to Use Them
Here are the exclusive features in ePick+ and how they work:
1. Multi-Scan Prompt
This feature can be toggled on or off in the Settings menu. When a picker is picking the same product for multiple pallets, the system can be set to require a scan for each individual pick. Turning this off allows the picker to make one scan and then be prompted to pick the required quantity for each pallet.
2. Layer Prioritization
This setting re-sorts the pick sequence to place full-layer quantities first. This helps inexperienced pick team members build a more stable base for their pallets, leading to better transport and less potential for breakage. This can be toggled on even if you're not performing actual layer picking using special machinery.
3. Easier Navigation
Instead of repeatedly tapping the back button to return to the main page, users can now tap the menu in the top right corner to access the “Main Page” link. This allows navigation from anywhere in the picking process directly to the main screen.
4. Replenishment Requests
If there isn't enough inventory in a bin, pickers can create a replenish request on the fly. System Setting 527 allows you to control whether a prompt appears when a picker cuts a pick or skips it. The system will then create a replenishment move task that gets prioritized in the directed replenishment hierarchy.
5. Bin Inventory Correction
This feature allows a picker to reset bin inventory to zero if they make a quantity cut due to incorrect bin inventory. System Setting 3231 allows you to control whether a prompt will appear to ask if they want to count the current bin inventory to zero. This ensures the bin inventory is accurate and prevents other pickers from being directed to an empty bin. Bin Inventory corrections can be paired with Replenishment Requests to optimize pick bin inventory and time with product available.
6. Change Pick Bin
Controlled by the “Allow Bin Changes In ePick” field found on Pick Methods, pickers can now change the bin they are picking from. By tapping the bin location, they can see other bins and code dates with available inventory for that product. This helps reduce after-the-fact moves and keeps inventory accurate.

General Workflow and Tips
1. Accessing ePick+: Login to Encompass Mobile Warehouse. Find the picking section and select ePick+.
2. Using Filters: On the main page, you can filter by date, pallet type, and pick team. Pick Team selection is controlled by the Pick Teams assigned to the logged in Employee. These filters were previously found within ePick Settings in the legacy version of the tool.
3. Settings Menu: The menu in the top right corner gives you access to settings, and the Cognex camera scanner.
Upload Logs: If you experience an issue, use the "Upload logs" button at the top of the Settings page to send your data to developers to help them troubleshoot.
Default Printer: You can set a default printer for pallet tags, or leave it set to "None" to allow pickers to choose their printer at the end of each pallet.
Picking Process:
Clicking "Start Picking" is the same as the old "begin" button.
Before the first pick, a summary will be displayed showing the pallet's total cases and pallet type. All assigned pallets will be listed if picking more than one pallet at a time.
During picking, a progress bar shows the number of SKUs picked out of the total. The total number of units is also displayed at the top.
The "View all" button displays the list of all products on the pallet and provides a summary of the pallet's progress, including changes like skipped picks or cut quantities.
Finishing a Pallet:
Once all products are picked, pallet tag printing and QA options will appear depending on system configuration.
Pallet details can be viewed after the fact by tapping on the completed pallet from the ePick+ main page; this is the same view as Pallet Inquiry. Pallet Tags can also be reprinted from this view.
Clicking "Start Picking" again will assign new pallets to pick.
