Setting up QC Templates

Producer steps for creating QC Templates: add a template, assign QC Measurements in QC Template Designer, and attach it to Production Stage Types so Recipes inherit QC lines. Needs Batch Management (SystemSetting553), v22.05+.

Written by Bailey Naas-Thornton

Minimum Version Required: 22.05

Pre-Conditions

  • Site is a Production site that has Batch Management and Batch Processing turned on (SystemSetting553=True)

  • QC Measurements have been set up

  • Production Stage Groups have been set up

Steps

  • Navigate to the QC Templates Table

  • Select "Add QC Template"

  • Name the grouping of QC measurements being built. Example: "Fermentation Logs" or "Brewhouse QC"

  • Add Record

  • Select the switchboard icon next to the new QC Template to go to QC Template Designer

  • In template designer, add in the QC Measurements that will be taken as a part of this QC Template

Once a QC has all the QC measurements assigned to it and saved, it can be set on specific ProductionStageTypes.QCTemplates. Once attached to a Production Stage Type, Recipes created with a Stage of that Type will inherit the list of QC Lines from the Template moving forward.

NOTE: This will not update any existing Recipes or Production Orders that are currently planned.

Fields And Definitions

  • QC Template: A set of QC Measurements that will apply to a specific set of workflows (Production Stage Types) in Recipes and/orProduction

Best Practices

  • Set "Is Series"=True for any measurements that need to be taken multiple times

  • Set Min/Max Values for QC measurements where a min/max value applies. For Measurements that have different Min/Max Values Recipe to Recipe, leave the Min?Max blank on the QC Template

  • Sequencing determines the order by which QC MEasurements will display to an operator when making a QC Log

  • Batch QC is set Recipe-by-Recipe in Recipe Manager. Any QC that needs to be logged to the entire batch as opposed to a stage within the batch (Blending, Packaging, etc...) should be aded to the Recipe itself.
