The LicensePlateBinTrans EDBL routine allows you to move inventory that is tracked on license plates from one bin to another. The routine creates bin transaction records that record the movement of products.

The routine supports two methods of identifying license plates:

  1. Using the FromLicensePlateID field (direct method)

  2. Using SSCC18 barcode and FromBinID fields (indirect method)


When using the SSCC18 method, if a license plate is not found at the specified source bin but the SSCC18 exists elsewhere in the system, a new license plate will be created at the source bin before moving it to the destination.

The routine will validate that source and destination bins are in the same location. If they are in different locations, the import will fail with appropriate warnings.

The routine only supports the AddOnly and UpdateOrAdd import actions. UpdateOnly is not supported for this routine.

Fields And Definitions

Required Fields:

  • ToBinID: Integer. The destination bin ID where license plates will be moved to.

  • NumUnits: Decimal. The quantity of inventory to be moved.

Identification Fields (at least one set is required):

Method 1:

  • FromLicensePlateID: Integer. The ID of the license plate to be moved.


Method 2:

  • SSCC18: Text (20). The barcode identifier of the license plate.

  • FromBinID: Integer. The source bin ID where the license plate is currently located.

Best Practices

  • Always verify that source and destination bins are in the same location before attempting imports

  • Use the direct FromLicensePlateID method when possible, as it provides the most reliable identification
    ​
    ​

  • When using SSCC18 and FromBinID, ensure that the SSCC18 value exists somewhere in your system for the creation of new license plates

  • Run a small test batch before importing large datasets to verify configurations
    ​

  • Ensure destination bins are configured to track license plates (BinZones.TrackLicensePlates > 0)

  • For bulk movements of license plates, consider breaking large imports into smaller batches

    ​

  • The NumUnits field should typically match the quantity on the license plate for complete transfers, but partial quantities are supported
