Dashboard Role for the Campaign Manager Dashboard
Steps
How Campaign Manager is used:
Encompass developed Campaign Manager to replace our dependency on third-party software that we used for targeted emails so that we did not have to upload customer data into another application
Today we use Campaign Manager for sending several thousand emails each week
Encompass Customers use Campaign Manager for sending Automated Statements and in some cases, post-delivery notices, payment reminders, newsletters, birthday messages, etc.
The best way to start is with a code item dashboard
Steps
1. Go to your Encompass site
2. Click the 3 dots in the navigation menu and click “+ New Dashboards”
Name your dashboard 'YourName' Campaign
Dashboard Category = Template Designers
Add Record
Add it as a Blank dashboard
Add a Code widget
3. Open a new tab and go to this link: Campaign Manager Sample Code or copy any of our other Templates here
Copy the code provided in the document and paste in your blank dashboard code widget.
Make changes to your company information, logos, messages, links, etc.
4. Updating/adding images
Go to the Documents table-> Upload a new document/image
View the document and copy the Thumbnail URL
Paste using following format: <img src=" https://cdn.e8.co/Support/S3Images/b88965bf5ba87129df9071e5865c2f6f.png" alt="Your Logo" style="height: 50px; width: auto;”>
You can also use an online HTML generator to create the code for you to copy into the template
5. Update the Footer
To adjust the color of the Footer
Paste the color #hex code into the HTML where you see: style="color: #ffffff"
Save your dashboard
6. Go to the Global Documents table and locate your Global Document ID.
This will be different for everyone! It will start with “CodeItemhtml”
Copy it/write it down because this is how you will use the template on the campaign
7. Create Fusion Report:
Create a Fusion Report with the following Tables, Group Bys and Filters (see PDF tab for full view of screenshots)
8. Edit the report with your info:
ToEmail: Who will receive email
DeliveryMethod = 2 for email
Subject: This will be the email subject line
BodyHTMLGlobalDocumentID: Update to your Global Document ID
FromEmail: generic Encompass email or will pull from System Setting 278
SingleSendMD5: update with your subject
Add any additional filters you’d like such as Customer Type, Location, etc.
9. Save your report
10. Add the Campaign:
Go to the Campaign Manager dashboard
Click Add New Campaign
Name: Descriptive name
Select the report you just created
Save
11. Match fields
You may need to match your report fields to the Campaign Fields
Click the edit pencil on your Campaign Record
Click the drop-downs to match the fields in your report to the fields in the campaign
12. Preview your report by clicking on the envelope
This will preview your top 5 emails
Click through them
Click Cancel
13. Add personalization
Did you notice how each email was simply addressed with Dear Customer?
Click on the magic wand
Replace the word Customer in Dear Customer with whatever the name of your fusion group by value is (surrounded by { })
Example: {Company} (referring to our Customers. Company group by)
Preview your report by clicking on the envelope again
Click Cancel
Best Practices
When you create a Campaign, an Import Routine is created.
After sending your emails, you can go to Sub Tables -> Import Tasks to see your Updated Record Count (# of emails sent. This should be the same as # of records on your fusion report)
View the emails sent on the Messages table
