Best Practices
When closing a bank account, set the associated GL account in the Bank Account Map to Inactive rather than deleting the map. This retains the historical link for accurate bank reconciliations and reporting.
Establish a clear naming convention for Bank Account Maps to easily identify the associated bank.
Regularly review Bank Account Maps and Deposit Account Maps to ensure accuracy, especially after any chart of accounts or bank account changes.
Implement controls to prevent unauthorized modifications to Bank Account Maps and Deposit Account Maps.
