Customize Columns Displayed by Default

Steps to set which columns show by default on a table or sub table in Encompass via the Table Map dashboard (Display By Default, Display By Default in Subs). Changes apply to all users. Requires v23.01+.

Steps

1. Navigate to the Table Map dashboard

2. Search for the table or subtable you want to update

3. Click Map Table
​
4. Click Edit
​
5. Toggle on "Show System Columns"
​
6. Update the Columns
​
a. To update columns displayed by default on the full Table View:
​

  • Locate the column of the table field you want to update
    ​
    ​

  • Set the Display By Default field to Yes or No


b. To update columns displayed by default on the Sub Table View:
​

  • Locate the column of the table field you want to update
    ​
    ​

  • Set the Display By Default in Subs field to Yes or No


7. Click Save

  • Display By Default - Controls which columns are displayed when viewing the full table

  • Display By Default in Subs - Controls which columns are displayed when viewing a table as a Sub Table

Best Practices

  • Updating which columns display by default on tables or subtables updated the view for all users in the company, not just the user updating the Table Map
