Steps
Creating Bin Count Tasks
1. Navigate to the Bin Count Tasks table using the universal search.
2. Click "Add Bin Count Tasks"
To view all the Non-WMS inventory count task filter on the "Count Type" column.
A warning will appear at the top informing users to provide filters so the system knows what to count. Making sure filters are used will allow the warehouse team to know exactly what to count at an achievable rate.
3. Filter by supplier, brand, or at the product level.
4. For efficient handling of large counts, divide the work among warehouse users. Simply specify the number of sub-tasks in the 'Total Count Task', enable 'Divide Counts by Total Count Tasks', and assign a user. This will automatically split the count evenly.
5. Once the filters have been entered, click "Add Bin Count Task".
6. The Bin Count Tasks will then be created. If the count tasks were split the user must change the "Assigned to" user column to make sure they are divided properly.
7. Under each Bin Count Tasks, expand the sub table to see the specific Bin Counts.
Fields And Definitions
Bin Count Tasks table - Table to view, create, edit, and reconcile Bin Count Tasks.
Reconcile - The process of comparing physical inventory counts with records of inventory on hand. This is where the inventory will be written in/off.
Inventory Count - Monitoring what is in stock for certain products or Bin Locations. During an inventory count, the product(s) carried are counted and recorded. When the inventory count is complete, the warehouse's inventory records are updated.
Best Practices
Counting regularly ensures that variances can be caught while there is still time to research.
If there is no reconcile button on the Bin Count Task, it means none of the counts had an adjustment to write in/out, so no invoice was generated.
