Pre-Conditions
Previous GPS Device integration with the Encompass team.
Newly purchased GPS Devices from the Encompass team.

Steps
Steps once Customer receives Geotab devices after ordering through Encompass:
On Geotab website:
1. Click the Assets button.
2. Search for the new GPS device serial number in the search bar to ensure the number is not present.
3. If the serial number is present skip to "In Encompass" steps.
4. If not present in the database, click the Add a new asset button.
When in the Add a new asset Form: Make sure to include all required information requested as well as the GPS Device Serial Number.
Required Fields:
Asset name
Serial Number
Asset type group
Optional: Group (suggested to help organize data in system)
5. Once all fields are complete and match what you expect to see in the Encompass system, click Save new Asset (GPS Device will auto import into Encompass, may take a few minutes).
In Encompass:
1. Navigate to the GPS Devices table in the Universal Search bar.
2. Search the GPS Device Serial Number in the GPS Device field to confirm it has been imported into Encompass.
3. Navigate to the Vehicles table in the Universal Search bar.
4. Find the Vehicle record you want the new GPS Device to be associated with.
5. Edit the record and update the GPS Device field with the GPS Device Serial Number to connect that vehicle with your new Geotab device.
6. Click Save Changes.
