Steps
Warning: Snowflake Reader Accounts are recommended only for technical users. Utilizing and managing the account requires SQL database management experience.
Encompass does not provide direct support on managing your Snowflake account.
Account Administration
Following initial setup, Encompass will provision a primary Administrator user account for your organization
Your Administrator is responsible for:
Creating and managing additional user accounts for your team
Configuring access controls and permissions
Setting up integrations with your BI tools
Important: After setting up the account, Encompass no longer maintains access to the account. If you lose access to the Administrator account (and all other administrators, if multiple are created later), the only way for Encompass to recover the account is to delete the account entirely and re-create it, which will force all connections/setup in the account to be re-done. This full reset of an account, should you lose access, is charged at the normal setup fee rate for the initial account creation.
Technical Support Framework
Technical support and consulting for Snowflake Reader accounts is available through our Professional Services team
Technical support is billed at standard hourly rates
Third-Party Tool Integration
The Snowflake Reader Account provides standard ODBC/JDBC connectivity for all major reporting tools, as well as purpose built connectors by some of the major BI tool providers
Encompass does not provide direct support for third-party BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.), instead, reach out to those 3rd party providers for help with configuring their tools.
For tool-specific connection issues, please contact your BI tool provider's support team

Best Practices
We highly recommend that they do the following after setting up their account:
1. Turn on MFA for the account we provided. Restrict its use and use it as an administration account
2. Add additional users as needed for specific users or services. Restrict their permissions as much as possible.
