Minimum Version Required: 23.01

Pre-Conditions

  • Required Permission - FusionEdit

  • Recommended Fusion I/II Certification

Steps

Concatenates two or more strings. No function required, only a double pipe between values. The ANSI standard for concatenate only supports 2 arguments. So, CONCAT(1,2) works but it's only helpful when there are 2 arguments. || works with any number of arguments, and it's a bit easier to write.

Syntax

Value1 || Value2 || Value3

Arguments

Can be text, numbers, a field in Encompass, HTML..etc. Concat is used to create pictures, links, colors, custom text and many other types of reporting fields. If a field you are concatting has the potential to be NULL, use an IFNULL statement to avoid the entire concatenation being NULL

Example

"Products"."ProductID"||"Products"."ProductName" = 123ProductName
