LEFT(Value1,#)
or
RIGHT(Value1,#)
Arguments
Value 1:
The text string which will be used.
#:
The number of text characters that will be pulled from the left/right side of the text string.
Example
LEFT('Encompass',3) = Enc
RIGHT('Encompass',4) = pass
