How to check your computer\u0027s .NET Framework version

Steps to check a Windows computer's .NET Framework version for Encompass: open Command Prompt as administrator and run the reg query command for the NDP v4 version. Needs a Windows admin account; v22.01+.

Pre-Conditions

  • Must be on a Windows computer.

  • The user logged into the computer must have a user account type of 'Full Administrator'

Steps

1. Press Windows + S on your keyboard to open the search bar.

2. Type cmd in the search bar.

3. Right-click on the Command Prompt result and select Run as administrator. This ensures you have the necessary permissions to run the command.

4. In one line, paste the following command to view the latest .NET version on your system:

reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\full" /v version
