Steps

Strategic Routing: Importing Data from Wise Systems Strategic Planner

1. Click "Import Strategic Plan" from the Route Versions table.

2. Send the import request to Wise Systems by selecting the Planning Session to be imported and clicking on the "Send Import Request to Wise" button.

  • In order for a planning session to be imported, it must be in exported status.

3. After about 3 to 4 seconds, the status of the Planning Session will update to "Import Pending" status.

4. Click on the "Next: Preview Data" button to continue the import process.

  • The preview will show customers' current and new route information for you to review before actually importing the new routing data. The Wise Systems strategic planner will sequence stops, so it is important to know that multiple stops may be imported for the same customer.

  • For example, suppose a customer has a current delivery stop that is every week or phase "all" and the stop sequence is #1 every week. If the strategic planner sequence that customer to a different sequence every week, there will be 4 stops imported for the customer, 1 only, 2 only, 3 only, and 4 only; each with a different sequence.

5. Toggle the switch "Update related stops to keep them aligned"

  • Setting the toggle to true will ensure related stops as far as presell and delivery will stay aligned. For example, if you are importing in delivery stops and a stop is moved from Thursday to Friday, the related presell stops will be moved to the next day as well. Assuming the new Friday delivery is a one-day presell, the Wednesday presell stop for the customer would be moved to Thursday.

  • Leaving the toggle off will only import the data from Wise and will not update related stops in Encompass.

6. Once you have completed previewing the data, click the "Next: Import Data" button to continue.

7. The Import Complete page will appear once the import has been completed.

8. View the "Routing Report" to ensure alignment of stops and the "Route Metrics Report" to compare routing metrics.

  • These report links will open the reports, but be informed that these reports will not update or show current data for about 15 minutes after the import has been completed or until the data warehouse syncs.
