Steps
Cross Company Payment Account Maps help define the general ledger accounts that will be used when customer payments are received by one company; but applied to open invoices owned by a different company.
Creating a Cross Company Payment Account Map
1. Navigate to the Cross Company Payment Account Maps table using Universal Search.
2. Click Add Cross Company Payment Account Maps button.
3. Select the two Companies to create the cross company payment relationship between.
a. Enter "Company A"
b. Enter "Company B"
4. Designate the general ledger accounts to be used for Due To and Due From postings.
Note: Only one record is needed per company relationship because that record designates both sides of the transaction.
5. These accounts are used when the system generates Journal Entries with Source = AR Receipts to properly balance the sub-ledger with the general ledger.
6. The Company that collects the payment and applies to invoices belonging to a different Company will see a debit to Undeposited Funds and a credit to the Due To account.
7. The Company that has its open invoices reduced by payments received from a differnet company will see a credit to Accounts Receivable and a debit to the Due From account.
