How To Use The Profit Calculator
The Profit Calculator simplifies the process of determining customer profit by case, unit, or serving across various promotion levels. It equips sales representatives with valuable data, enabling them to engage in informed discussions to enhance sales and maximize the customer's profitability.
1. Navigate to the mobile invoice edit screen in Encompass Mobile. Then view the Product Detail screen. Product Detail is already displayed on tablets. On a phone, tap the product name to open Product Detail.
2. Tap the price button to open the Profit Calculator.
3. Enter a purchase amount in the Purchase box.
This does not add product to the invoice. The purchase box allows you to adjust the number of cases or units to view how the customer's profit may change when using different promotions.
For example, the sales rep may show the customer their profit if they ordered one case as well as their profit if they ordered 3 cases to meet the qualifications of a promotion.
4. Toggle between available promotions using the Apply Promotion drop-down.
5. The Profit Calculator can be run using a margin percentage, markup percentage, and by setting a retail price.
*Example: Set Price ($)
a. Tap 'Set Price($)'
b. Enter the customer's retail price
c.On the left is the customer's cost by unit, case, and total cost for the selected product and purchase amount. On the right, are the corresponding profit calculations. Note that Profit is calculated using Consumable Units per Case.
d. Once values have been entered in one of the calculation tabs (Margin, Markup, Set Price), the other tabs will automatically calculate.
Unit and Serving
Tap the Unit or Serving tab to toggle between Profit calculations based on how the product is sold by the customer.
Calculating based on serving is beneficial for on-premise customers with products on tap, or liquor and wine sold by the glass. An additional calculation displays for cost and profit per serving.
1. Enter the serving size for the product.
2. Enter the retail price, markup, or margin for a single serving.
