Fields And Definitions

What is EDI Status?

EDI Status is how Encompass Tracks how Invoices send through EDI. A single Invoice can send multiple different files throughout its lifecycle, so this field helps ensure the proper order of files is followed. EDI Status will follow a general hierarchy so it can only move to a higher status. Generally there are 3 statuses that each file type has:

  • Resend File

  • File Sent

  • File Failed

To resend a file of any type, you can set the EDI Status to resend for that file type.

Not sure what file type you need to send?

Check the exchange configuration to find the functional type. This will help you understand what the file type is as well as what to set the EDI Status to.
