How to Test Fusion Report

  1. Using Universal Search, navigate to the Saved Reports dashboard

  2. Click the Report Owner field and filter to the report being tested

  3. Click Search

  4. Select Edit on the report

  5. Values are where you can add data to the report

    a. Name - The column Name is the one displayed on Report View

    b. Value - Contains Field or Expression contents

    c. Expression or Field - Used to switch between field and expression

NOTE: The 'fx' (Expression or Field) text will darken and the other boxes will change indicating that you have switched the function into expression. You can again click on 'fx' to change it back to a value 'field'

  6. Click on the Expression Builder

  7. Create an expression using the functions and fields. Then, click Done once finished.

    a. Expression Text - This contains up to 400 characters long and calculates the value in the report. You can also click on the ‘i’ icon to see some examples of how to use the function.

    b. Functions - Contains all common MySQL Functions and shows the ‘Mouse Over’ functionality. Clicking on one function puts it into the expression builder and it also shows the parameters it wants and how it wants them organized.

    c. Fields - Contains all fields that are available based on the joins. Clicking on one field puts it into the expression.

NOTE: You can type out a field manually in the expression box, but you must get the table field names correct.

  8. Click Run Test This will indicate if the Expression you created is valid. You will also be able to see the error on the expression.

    a. Pass - Icon indicates that the field or function is correct

    b. Fail - Icon indicates that there is an error on the field or function that was entered.

    c. SQL compilation error - Indicates details as to where the error came from. It will provide the line and position of the value that needs to be fixed.
