Downloading a Table to Excel\/CSV

Distributor steps for exporting any Encompass table view to Excel, CSV, PDF, XML, JSON or Google Drive, including all records (100,000 max; use a Fusion RawCSV report for more). v22.01+.

Steps

How to download/export a table

  1. Navigate to the table you want to export (Example: Customers)

  2. (Optional) Modify the columns shown/filters applied to get the data you want to export displayed

  3. Click the Download icon

    ​

  4. Click on the format you want to download
    ​NOTE: Any table view can be exported to Excel, CSV, XML, JSON, PDF, or directly to Google Drive.

By default, the export will download the exact records shown on the page. If you want to download all records, use the Comma Delimited - All Records (CSV) format option.

  • 'All Records (CSV)' is limited to 100,000 records. A Fusion report with Format=RawCSV must be used to export more records than 100,000 records

Fields And Definitions

CSV = Comma Separated Values

  • A compact file format that can be opened by any excel/google sheets/libre office/etc. program

XML = Extensible Markup Language

  • A markup language and file format for storing, transmitting, and reconstructing arbitrary data

JSON = JavaScript Object Notation

  • An open standard file format and data interchange format that uses human-readable text to store and transmit data objects

Best Practices

  • Utilize the CSV file format whenever possible.

  • CSV files are significantly smaller and faster than Excel files, especially for larger files.
    ​
    ​

  • JSON and XML are technical file formats that are commonly only used for integration work.
