Fields And Definitions

  • Column Alias - This is the name that will display for the custom field. Anything that still says 'CustomField' is available to use.

  • Column Field - This is the system name for the custom field and cannot be changed.

  • Data Type - This determines the data type input the field will use. For custom fields, we recommend TextArea.

  • View Permission - This determines which permission is needed to view this field.

  • Edit Permission - This determines which permission is needed to edit this field.

  • Display by Default - Should this field display in the default view of the table? If so, set it to Yes.

  • Values - If the Custom Field should be a text field, leave this blank. If it should be a drop-down, enter the drop-down option to be created, followed by a semi-colon and the next option. Do not enter any spaces. Example: Bronze; Silver; Gold.

  • Reference Table - Specify if the table will reference a field in another table. The values can also be set to reference a value in the database but show this value as a different name in the drop-down. Example: stored value, display value; stored value, display value;.

  • Under Advanced Fields, there are several more attributes that can be altered, including Virtual Field, Ref Field Filter, and Audit Retention Days.
