How To Add A Build To

Build To enables you to set the expected Customer inventory and build orders based on what the Customer currently has in stock. Build Tos can be set on both Encompass Mobile and on the server.

Build To on Encompass Mobile

1. Navigate to the Mobile Invoice Edit screen. Then, tap the Product you'd like to set a Build To on.

2. Scroll to find the Build To field and tap the box below.

3. Enter the number of wholesale units that the customer would like to keep in stock, then tap Done.

4. Enter the Customer's current inventory of the product. Then, tap Done.

5. The purchase box will automatically fill with the order needed to meet the Build To. For example, if the Customer has 5 wholesale units currently in stock and a Build To of 10, another 5 wholesale units need to be ordered.

Build To on the Server

1. Navigate to the Customer History table using the universal search bar.

2. Click the Customer column header and search for the Customer. Then, click Go.

3. Select the product to set a Build To on.

4. Hover over the Build To field and click the edit pencil.

5. Enter the number of wholesale units that the customer would like to keep in stock.

6. Then click the save icon.

Best Practices

  • For Customers that do not have Retail Insights and Suggested Order enabled:

Encompass Mobile will auto-order to that level based on user-entered inventory. So, for if the build-to is 20 and an inventory of 5 is entered, 15 units will be ordered.

  • For Customers where Retail Insights and Suggested Order are enabled:

Encompass Mobile will suggest the optimal order for the customer based on the last 28 days of depletions data, using the build-to as an upper limit. In the example above, Encompass Mobile will never suggest an order that would put on hand inventory for the customer over 20 cases.

If a Build To is set for a Product, the user can simply select the Autofill max button to populate a Purchase based on the Build To shelf capacity. Instantly populate a purchase based on the build to, without entering inventory.
