Steps

Alternate Locations is cross-dock functionality. It allows orders to be picked out of one location for customers that belong to another location.

There are two "options" when using Alternate Locations.

​

Option 1: "Pick From" Alternate Location:

  • Pick From is turned on by Setting 555
    ​
    ​

  • A single invoice can picked from the alternate location and a satellite location
    ​
    ​

  • Delivery is on one invoice
    ​
    ​

  • "Alternate Location Transfers" will automatically be created to keep inventory accurate in both the alternate location and satellite locations
    ​

  • Invoices are on the satellite location's route
    ​
    ​
    ​

Option 2: "Delivery From" Alternate Location

  • Setting 555 is false
    ​
    ​

  • Invoices will be split based on products that are to be picked from the alternate location
    ​
    ​

  • Delivery is on two invoices
    ​
    ​

  • Invoices will be on alternate location routes and the satellite routes

Primary Location: The customer's location

Alternate Location: The location that sources the inventory and picks orders
