Best Practices

Troubleshooting Errors:

Products not included?

  • Typically when products are not included in a pricing file, the customer on the price posting template or the product group on the price posting template do not allow the product to show. The first thing to check is the most recent price posting export for this template and see if the product is showing. If the product is showing, you should look for an exchange task that sent this price posting export (This will show in the memo of the exchange task) to confirm the data is in the file that was sent. If the product cannot be found in the price posting export it is being filtered out. The first thing to check is if there is a product group on the price posting template. If there is then make sure the product type of the product in question is included in the product group. If this is not the issue, then the customer is not able to purchase the product due to product controls. Please see our help resources on product controls for more details on the different product controls.

Pricing is not expected?

  • Typically when pricing is not expected in a pricing file, the customer on the price posting template is not setup to qualify for the correct promotions. The first thing to check is the most recent price posting export for this template and see if the product and pricing is showing. If the product and pricing is showing as expected, you should look for an exchange task that sent this price posting export (This will show in the memo of the exchange task) to confirm the data is in the file that was sent. If the product is not showing at all, please see above to find out how to troubleshoot products that are not showing. If the product is showing, but is not showing the correct pricing, the customer is either not qualified for the promotion you expect, or qualified for an unexpected promotion. To troubleshoot you should look at the promotions and make sure the customer is qualified for the proper promotions through promotion zones and promotion locations.

Store is not included?

  • Typically when a store is not included in a pricing file, they are not attached to the market on the price posting template. Please check the market and make sure to add the customer to the market. If there is no market on the price posting template, you will want to make sure you have exchange configurations price posting templates set up for all your locations to ensure the chain is receiving pricing for all locations.

Pricing files not received?

  • If a pricing file has not been received, there was either an error on the exchange task, or the pricing file did not generate. The first thing to check is the price posting exports under the price posting template to make sure an export has generated. If a price posting export was not generated as expected, make sure the next run date is set to a future date such as today's date so it can generate a new price posting export. If the price posting export was generated, you should look for an exchange task that sent this price posting export (This will show in the memo of the exchange task) to confirm the export was sent.
