Steps
Oftentimes, we want to package out a partial case or keg of finished goods. Products.SellByCaseOnly determines what partials the system allows.
If Products.SellByCaseOnly=SellByCaseOnly, users can enter packaged totals in whole numbers.
If Products.SellByCaseOnly=AllowDecimals, users can packaged totals with up to four decimal point precision.
If Products.SellByCaseOnly=AllowSellByConsumableUnitsPerCase, users can only package in increments set on the Package.ConsumableUnitsPerCase.
Allow Decimals
By allowing decimals, users can input decimals up to four which is ideal for packaging into kegs or totes. Best practice for packaged product is to create full consumable units at a time.
Consumable Units Per Case:
Consumable units per case can be found on the Package record. For example, a case of 24 cans has 24 consumable units in it. To avoid packaging a partial can, the system will round to the nearest full can when a user inputs a partial case when expressing the packaging prodution order.
Best Practices
When building new Products, copy similar existing Products which have the fields already set accordingly.
Set draft to package by decimals, but cases of cans or bottles to package by the COnsumable Unit to avoid inventorying low-fills.
