Transfer Empty or Filled Barrels between Locations

Producer steps for transferring empty or filled barrels to another location in Encompass Barrel Management, which creates a transfer invoice and purchase. Requires v24.01+, multiple locations, active barrels.

  • Multiple Locations

  • Barrel Equipment with Status = Active

Steps

How to Use:

  1. Navigate to ‘Barrel Management’
    ​
    ​

  2. Select a barrel to transfer
    ​
    ​

  3. Click ‘Transfer’
    ​
    ​

  4. Select transfer date and TO Location
    ​
    ​

  5. Click ‘Transfer’
    ​
    ​

  6. See the transfer Invoice & Purchase created to move the inventory in question, and the updated Equipment record in the destination Location
    ​
    ​

  7. The following updates are made behind the scenes:
    ​
    a. Transfer Invoice created in Balanced status to deplete liquid inventory
    ​
    - Unit Price = original Laid-in Cost from source PurchaseTrans
    ​
    b. Transfer Purchase created in Received status to receive liquid inventory
    ​
    -New BinLot created
    ​
    -Original Batch Code transferred to new PurchaseTrans
    ​
    -Original Proof transferred to new PurchaseTrans
    ​
    -Laid-in Cost transferred to new PurchaseTrans. Laid-in cost matches between old and new PurchaseTrans.
    ​
    c. Equipment record is retained
    ​
    d. Equipment.LocationID is updated to the TO Location
    ​
    e. New Equipment Bin created in TO Location
    ​
    -Old Bin Name passed to new Bin record
    ​
    f. Old Equipment Bin deleted
    ​
    g. Original Barrel History records are retained
    ​
    -New Barrel History record with TransType = Transfer is created
    ​
    h. Original Barrel Attributes are retained
