Minimum Version Required: 22.01

Pre-Conditions

  • The purpose of transmitting Global Products to an Encompass distributor is to share product information created in PIM with that distributor. Once sent, the distributor can import the product into their site using the "Add From Global Products" dashboard. It's also possible to include the FOB price (price from supplier to distributor) when sending a global product.

  • Distributors in the network can only receive global products that are not already linked to them. Users can check existing links between global and local products in the Distributor tab.

The benefits to sending global products to distributors are as follows:

  • The link from local to global is automatically set when doing this. Linking will not need to be done for this product in the distributors tab. Branding information will now exist in the Encompass site that the product was sent to, ie. images

Steps

  1. Go to PIM and create a Brand if one doesn't already exist.

  2. Create a new Product, ensuring the user know at least the Product's package configuration (e.g., 1/6 barrel keg, 12 pack 16oz cans).

  3. Open the Brand and then the newly added Product.

  4. Click the 'Send to Distributor' button.

  5. Set an optional FOB/price to Distributor.

  6. Send the Product Cost Plans to the available Distributors in the network.

  7. The Distributor can then view the Product on their side from the 'Add From Global Products' dashboard import queue in their Encompass site.

  8. The Distributor can follow the steps in the 'Add From Global Products' help resources to successfully import the Product to their local product database.
