The purpose of sending global products to an Encompass distributor is so that you can transmit the global product information created in PIM to a distributor. After a product has been sent, the distributor can then import it to their site from the Add From Global Products dashboard in their site. Currently, the price from supplier (FOB price) to distributor can also be attached when sending a global product to a distributor.

-You can only send global products to distributors within your network. If a distributor is already linked to the global product, the system will not allow you to send it. Verify linking between local products and global products from the Distributors tab.

The benefits to sending global products to distributors are as follows...

The link from local to global is automatically set when doing this. Linking will not need to be done for this product in the distributors tab. Branding information will now exist in the Encompass site that you sent the product to, ie. images

Go to PIM and create a brand if one has not already been created. After the brand is created you can then create a new product. At the very minimum you will need to know the product's package configuration ie. 1/6 barrel keg, 12 pack 16oz cans, 6 pack 750ml bottles.

Once the product has been created you will want to open the brand and then the newly added product. From here you will see a 'send to distributor' button. Click the button and you will see the available distributors in your network to send the product to. Once an optional FOB/price to distributor is set you can send the product cost plans.

Now that this is completed the distributor can then view the product on their side from the Add From Global Products dashboard import queue in their Encompass site. They can follow the steps in the Add From Global Products help resources to successfully import the product to their local product database.
