Steps
2. The report is designed to find any purchase transactions where the On Hand is greater than 0, the shipment has been received, and the purchase transaction has not had the expiration date changed since the Last Time Updated.
3. Filter the report to the data that needs to be updated. Package Code will make it easy to filter on Keg or Package. Exclude Brand will make it easy to remove specific brands from a whole supplier.
4. The Days To Add filter will add on that number of days to the existing expiration date in the system. No need to change the actual shelf life on the product. The Current Expiration Date and New Expiration Date are included in the report to make it easy to see what is changing.
5. The report is designed to exclude any purchase transactions that have already had the expiration date changed by any method. The filter called Last Time Updated is looking for any purchase transaction that has not been updated since the selected DateTime. This will prevent the same purchase trans from getting updated twice, and it will allow products to go through a second wave of extenstions. If users update everything by 4/9 and then the supplier comes back and says that 40 more days can be added, then the filter can get changed to 4/9 and the purchase trans can be updated a second time.
6. Run the report with the needed fitlers and export the results to CSV. It's always good to keep a record.
7. Click here for the link to the import routine. This is designed to accept the data exactly how it comes out of the above report.
8. Click Add New Task.
9. Choose the CSV from the report.
10. Click Add Task.
11. Click the Execute button next to the added task.
12. The expiration dates are now updated and they will drop out of the previous report as soon as the Data Warheouse is updated.
