Fields And Definitions
Reversed Invoice - the exact opposite of the original. This essentially voids out the original invoice.
Correct Invoice - this is an exact copy of the original invoice that can now be edited to apply promotions.
Best Practices
Do NOT change the Reversed Invoice (the exact opposite of the original)
Balance the Load Sheet and ensure the reversal is applied to the original
Unapply payments before reversing or correcting an invoice, if possible.
Be aware that correcting a previously corrected invoice will create additional reversal and correction records.
Reversals and Corrections do not change the original invoice, they create new records that either nullify OR nullify and recreate Invoices. This is because Verified Invoices cannot be edited.
Reversing an Invoice will result in the creation of one new invoice record, and it should be an exact match for all products, quantities, prices, and invoice charges found on the original in the opposite amount. Meaning, positive amounts are now negative, and negative amounts are now positive.
Correcting an Invoice will result in the creation of two new invoice records; one will be a reversal as described above, and one will be a recreation of the original invoice that is now editable.
