How frequently does Encompass release new versions?

Encompass releases a new Major Version every month.

The major version numbers line up with this monthly release schedule, for example:

- 23.10 = October 2023 release

- 24.01 = January 2024 release

etc.

Minor versions of Encompass are released every night, these include minor bug fixes and security updates.

Minor version numbers are incrementally increased at the end of the major version number:

23.10.015

23.10.023

etc...

How long does a major upgrade take to complete?

Typically major version upgrades take between 5 minutes to 30 minutes to complete, but may take longer for larger systems.

Where can I change when my system is upgraded?

You can control the weekend of the month that your system upgrades on the Manage Upgrade dashboard, which can be found in Universal Search (requires Global Setting Edit)

This dashboard also allows you to pick the time of day that the upgrade will begin, based on what works best for your organization.

What if I select 'Alpha' as my upgrade wave, when does this upgrade?

The alpha wave is on the last weekend of the previous month, this code is generally only recommended for customers who need the latest release before it is available to others.

What if I select 'Weekend 4' as my upgrade and the month only has 3 weekends?

Your system will be upgraded on the first weekend of the next month.

aka: 4 weekends after release, regardless of how long the month is

Do the mobile apps (Android/iOS) upgrade at the same time as the server?

The iOS App Store will upgrade all apps automatically based on when Encompass releases each app to Apple. These iOS app versions support all current server versions.

The Android apps are set to upgrade once the server completes a major version upgrade. Users are prompted to download the new version the next time they sign into the Android app.
