Example: If min Purchase = 20, there must be at least 20 total Num Units of any product on the Promotion to qualify for the Promotion

  • min Product Count* - The number of unique products needed to receive the Promotion
Example: If min Product Count = 3, at least three unique products on the promotion must be on the invoice to qualify for the promotion. The number of units is not a factor

  • Start Date* - Date the Promotion begins. Invoices qualify to receive a promotion if they are dated on or after the Promotion’s Start date

Promotion Types

  • Front Line - The base price for Customers, essentially the Full Price

    - If a Front Line promotion does not exist, the price set on the Product record is used (see Best Practices)

  • Discount - Allows you to set an amount that is subtracted from the Full Price.

    - Entering 1.00 in the Amount field would result in a $1 subtraction off of the Full Price

  • Case Discount - Allows you to set an amount that is subtracted from the Full Price only when the Product is sold in full case amounts

  • Price - This allows you to set a selling Price for the Product.

    - Entering 25 in the Amount field would result in the product being priced at $25 when applied

  • Case Price - This allows you to set the selling Price for the Product only when the Product is sold in full case amounts

  • Percentage - Sets the discount amount based on a percentage of the Full Price

    - Entering 0.25 in the Amount field would result in a 25% discount off of the Full Price

  • Rebate - Allows you to sell at Full Price and then run the ‘Month End Rebate Builder’ to issue credits to qualified customers on qualified sales

  • Zero - Product is sold at $0. Typically used for Inventory Adjustments, Donations, or Samples, use with caution

  • FOB - Product is sold at the FOB (Freight on Board) cost value pulled from the Product's Inventory record

  • Laid In - The product is sold at the Laid In Cost value pulled from the Product's Inventory record

  • Laid In - Tax - Product is sold at the FOB + Freight + OtherCost pulled from the Product's Inventory record

  • Laid In + Tax - The product is sold at the Laid In Cost + Tax pulled from the Product's Inventory record

Best Practices

  • Front Line Price and Product Price - Always set the Price field on the Product record to the highest possible price for the product, then set a Front Line promotion for the actual pricing for the product. This allows distributors to determine if a promotion wasn’t applied as it should have, because the price is much higher than expected. If the price on the product is set as $0, this would be much more difficult to determine.

  • When you are creating a new promotion and if you copy an old promotion and the PromotionType, MarketID, LineID, minNumUnits, and minProductCount are the same and the Start Date on the new promotion is in the future, the system will auto-end date the old promotion before the new one starts.
