Promotion Types Overview
1) Front Line: First level of pricing for Customers, essentially the Full Price. NOTE: If a Front Line price is not set up for a Customer or Product, the system will default to the Price field on the Product.
2) Discount: Allows users to set the Discount amount that will be subtracted from the Front Line Price. For example, ".50" in the Amount field equates to a 50 cent discount.
3) Case Discount: Allows users to set the Discount amount that will be subtracted from the Front Line Price only when the Product is sold in full case amounts.
4) Price: Allows users to set the desired selling Price for the Product. If the Front Line Price is $35 and the Price type discount Amount is set to $30, the system will calculate a discount of $5 and make sure the selling price is $30.
5) Case Price: Allows users to set the desired selling Price for the Product only when the Product is sold in full case amounts.
6) Percentage: Sets the discount amount based on a percentage of the Front Line Price. Amount of .10 would create a discount of 10% off the Front Line Price of the Product.
7) Rebate: Allows users to sell at full price throughout the month and then run the Month End Rebate Builder at the end of the month to issue credits to qualified customers on qualified sales.
8) Zero: This will sell the Product at $0. Typically used for Inventory Adjustments, Donations, or Samples.
9) FOB: Product will sell at the FOB (Freight on Board) cost value pulled from the Product's Inventory Record.
10) Laid-In - Tax: formerly FOB + Freight + OtherCost): Product will sell at the FOB + Freight + OtherCost pulled from the Product's Inventory record.
11) Laid-in: Product will sell at the Laid In Cost pulled from the Product's Inventory record.
12) Laid In +Tax: Product will sell at the Laid In Cost + Tax pulled from the Product's Inventory record.
13) Rebate Equivalencies: Allows users to sell at full price throughout the month and then run the Month End Rebate Builder at the end of the month to issue credits to qualified customers on qualified sales. In rebate Builder, it will allow users to specify the equivalency for the Products within the Promotion.

Best Practices
Best Practices
On any invoice, click on a price to bring up the price calculator. This will show what promotion was applied, what other promotions it was qualified for, and if promotions were not qualified, why they were not qualified.
If every Customer receives the same Front Line price, use Products.Price on the Products Table.
Set up at least one Front Line price for each Product. Use a different Front Line Promotion or each Supplier (or Brand if the Supplier is large).
Set Products.Price to highest Front Line price for that Product through enabling a weekly Import Project to copy the highest Front Line price to Products.Price.
Use Table Copy to create new promotions and put an end-date on the old promotions. This is particularly important on large Front Line promotions.
Bad Practices
Editing amounts on existing promotions for price changes.
Deleting existing Promotions.
Setting Products.Price to $999.99 or $0.00.
Having a single Frontline for All Products when dealing with a large SKU count.
