How to Check Return Rules
1. Using Universal Search, navigate to the Return Rules table.
2. Review the "Location", "Route Count Type", and "Priority" fields:
Location: The Warehouse where this Return Rule applies to.
Route Count Type: Limits which "Route Count Types" will see these return rules on Route Reconciliation. Route Count Type is located in the Bin Zone.
Priority: Determines the order in which the rules are prioritized if a single reason is used more than once.
3. Review the "Product Pick Type", "Pick Unit", and "Reason" fields:
Product Pick Type: this allows users to create a return rule specific to a product pick type. For example, if the product has a pick type of KEG and we use the 'Out of Code' reason, use a return rule to send that keg to a specific bin (ex. Out of Code Kegs Bin) different from where we might send products that have a PKG product pick type.
Pick Unit: Allows users to create a return rule specific to a pick unit. For example, if users are returning a full pallet and they want to use the 'Refused' reason, we can use a return rule to send that full pallet to a specific bin or adjustment customer (ex. Bulk Return Bin) rather than the default pick bin.
Reason: This comes from the Reasons table. Allows users to use the same reason for multiple return rules without cluttering the return.
4. Review the "Bin Zone" and "Remain on Truck" fields:
Bin Zone: Used to filter products by zone. If we set this on a rule and the product has a bin inventory in this bin zone, we will use the return bin on this return rule (used for larger warehouses).
Remain On Truck: True or False setting. Set this to true to leave the product on the truck.
5. Review the "Return Bin", "Adjustment Customer", and "Return to Default Pick Bin" fields:
Return Bin: (WMS users only) this is the bin, other than the default pick bin, the product will be returned to. Often is an adjustment or return bin.
Adjustment Customer: Alternately indicate an adjustment customer to write off the product on an invoice when returning the load.
Return To Default Pick Bin: True or False. Set this to true to return product to the default pick bin.
Note: If using "Return Bin", do not use "Adjustment Customer", and vice versa.
Fields And Definitions
*Location - Location should be the same as the location of the Warehouse and Load Sheets that the Rule should apply to.
Route Count Type - Determines the Route Count Type that this Rule should apply to.
*Priority - If a Route can trigger multiple Return Rules for returned inventory (i.e., multiple rules have the same Location, Route Count Type, and Reason), Priority determines the order the Rules should be executed in.
Product Pick Type - Determines the type of Product (e.g., can, keg, misc) that will trigger the Return Rule.
Pick Unit - Determines the Unit (bottle or case) that the product will be returned in. Typically, this should match the Unit type of the Pick Bin Zone to the product that will be returned to.
Reason - Determines the Reason (AKA Reason Code) for returned product required to trigger the Return Rule.
NOTE: The Reason Code must have either Allow Return = True or
Allow Return Error = True to be chosen within a Return Rule
Bin Zone - If the returned product has Bin Inventory in the selected Bin Zone, this Return Rule will apply (as long as criteria determined by other fields are met).
Return Bin - Determines the Bin the returned product should be returned to.
NOTE: Leave blank if an Adj. Customer is chosen
ADJ Customer - Instances, where the returned product should not be allocated to a Bin (e.g., Unusable product), can be assigned to an Adj. Customer. This will not replenish the Bin Inventory. In other words, assign an Adj. Customer in place of a Bin
NOTE: Leave blank if a Return Bin is chosen
