Minimum Version Required: 23.01

Steps

How to show Page Performance

1. Expand the menu on the left side and click the 3-dots option in the top-right corner of the left-side menu

2. Scroll to the bottom of this menu to view Performance information

3. The Version, Server Time, Browser Render, and Internet Speed are displayed in this part of the menu

Troubleshooting Slowness

After showing the page performance using the steps above,

  • Slow Server Time (> 5 seconds, depending on the page): The system is running slower, check status.encompasstech.com for known issues, or contact Encompass Support

  • Slow Browser Render(> 1 second, depending on the page): Your personal computer is running slow, check for processes or other pages that are slowing it down, or work with your local I.T. department to troubleshoot further

  • Slow Internet Speed (< 3-5 Mbps, depending on ISP expectations): Check with your I.T. on making this faster, or contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP). You can also try checking through awsspeedtest.com to the Oregon region to check for high latency issues with your ISP

Internet Speed is a rough estimate based on the last resource file loaded on the page

No Internet Connection dialog

  • This pop-up is driven by navigator.onLine value, which is the browser itself telling Encompass if it has connection to the internet or not.

  • Encompass checks this value whenever making a call to the server, and if it the browser says you are not connected to the internet, it continues to re-check every 1 second. The dialog goes away if the browser says you are connected again.

Fields And Definitions

  • Version: This is the current Encompass server version

  • Web: Name of the server cluster that generated the page

  • DB: Primary database hosting this system

  • DW: Datawarehouse (Snowflake cluster) used for reporting by this system

  • Server Time: Time it takes for the server to generate the page

  • Browser Render: Estimate how long it took the browser to deliver the page over the internet and render it

  • Internet Speed: Estimate the internet speed of the last resource downloaded

  • If the Server Time is high, this means the page was a complex or heavy page for the server to generate, or the Encompass system is running slower

  • If the Browser Render time is high, this means the local internet connection is slow, or the computer running your browser is slow

  • Internet Speed is rough estimate based on the last resource file loaded on the page

  • Use Fast.com and AWSSpeedTest.com (to Oregon) to get a more accurate estimate of your local internet speed
