Fields And Definitions
*required fields
Recipes - Templates where Batches and Production Orders are scheduled from.
Recipe Management Dashboard - Let Users interact with many tables at once. Through the Recipe Management Dashboard, the tables we will be interacting with are:
- *Products - Raw Material Products, Work in Process Products, and Finished Goods Products need to be on the Products Table to add to Recipes.
- *Production Stage Types - The term which describes a specific group of actions and/or inputs that comprise a single Recipe Stage in a Recipe. Verbs like Blending, Filtering, Pasteurizing, etc.
- QC Measurements - Measurements that are taken during any Recipe on any Stage. To add QC to a Recipe, the Measurement must first be in the QC Measurements Table.
NOTE: If needed, refer to the “QC Templates Training” to have QC Measurement Templates automatically added into Recipes as they are being built.
UoM (Unit of Measure) - The unit by which the goods are measured
Best Practices
Recipes should be built as if one whole batch of the Product is being made. Multiple-Batching can be entered at the time Recipes are scheduled, allowing a single Recipe to be used for many different Production volumes.
Build Recipes to a single run - Use turns on a recipe to double brew into a larger vessel.
Example: If brewing 30bbls for ferment on a 15bbl system, make the brew or the mash/boil turnable at 15bbls each then have the fermentation stage plan for 15bbl.
Unit of Measure on recipe Components MUST be set to the correct measurement used in the Recipe. If this field is not set correctly, Inventory will be depleted inaccurately and cause Inventory discrepancies that get worse each time the Recipe is Processed. Volume-to-volume (e.g., gallons to liters) or weight-to-weight (e.g., pounds to kilograms) are calculated automatically from the Product’s Package field
Example: 2-Row Malt is bought and inventoried pounds, but used in kilograms. The system will automatically make those conversions from the Product’s Package to the unit it is used in the Recipe.
If conversions cross measurement types, (i.e., buying something in gallons but using it in pounds), the weight per unit of that Component needs to be set on its Product record.
Recipe Stages represent a single workflow for Users to follow. Grouping Instructions and Components by Timing and Sequence allow for a repeatable process for Users to do everything in the correct order, at the appropriate time.
Pass-Through Equipment such as filtration or pasteurization between stages should occur as Instructions at the end of the stage you will be transferring from.
