Three Use Cases for Product Cost Plans
1. Set a default value that is always pulled (leave location and vendor blank).
This updates the inventory record so when a purchase is confirmed it does not update the inventory record with the last price.
2. Set an override value per location or per vendor.
Allows controlling the price if purchasing is different when buying from different vendors.
3. Set a date for a price change.
Large suppliers/vendors have a price change in the fall so a distributor can import product cost plans and set a new start date and price so Encompass will set the new price based on the shipment receive date and the product cost plan start and end date.
