How to populate the Supplier Report Code on the Brand Family

Distributor steps in Encompass to get the SRS Supplier Report Code onto a Brand Family by linking a product to dsdlink in Product Manager. Needs a global supplier with a report code. v23.01+.

Pre-Conditions

  • The Brand Family must have a Brand or Product associated with it.

  • The Global Supplier that the Brand Family will be linked to must have a Supplier Report Code already established. This is maintained by Encompass employees in coordination with SRS.

Steps

  1. Navigate to a Product record that belongs to the Brand family.

  2. Click on the Product Manager tool.
    ​
    ​

  3. Search for the corresponding Global Product to link to. If it does not yet exist, create the global product from the same tool, and link your local product to the new global product.

  4. Click 'Link to dsdlink Product'.
    ​
    ​

  5. Click 'Save Changes'. This newly established link will cascade up through the hierarchy and link the Brand, Brand Family, and Supplier. This process will also populate the Supplier Report Code on the Brand Family from the corresponding Supplier in dsdlink. If you follow these steps and the corresponding Brand Family still does not inherit the expected Supplier Report Code, please reach out to Encompass Support.

Notes:

  1. You can achieve the same results by using Brand Manager to link a Brand. That being said, setting links at the product level is the best practice as it provides more granularity for other parts of the software.

  2. If VIP SRS is requesting a change from an existing Supplier Report Code to another, let them know that they need to make this request to Encompass Support first.
