Written by Bailey Naas-Thornton

Minimum Version Required: 23.01

Pre-Conditions

  • The product must have IncludeInSalesReportByDefault=True.

  • Brand Family must be linked to the global product catalog.

  • SuppliersVendors record must exist for each location expected to report.

Steps

1. Use this Report - SRS Reporting by Product to help determine which products are reporting to SRS.

Note: There are a couple of connections in DSDLink that need to be made to completely ensure a product is reporting. Encompass employees maintain these connections. The instructions below help ensure that everything is set up correctly on the distributor site only.

2. In an Encompass site, there are 3 fields to check to ensure that a specific product is reporting to SRS.

  1. The brand family that the product is under must have a "SupplierReportCode". If it does not, link a product underneath the brand family to the global database, using Product Manager. After linking a product, this link will cascade up through the hierarchy in your site, and your brand family will acquire the "SupplierReportCode" that is found on the global supplier record in DSDLink.

  2. The supplier that the product is under must have a "SuppliersVendors" record (one per location selling the product) attached to it with SupplierDataAccess=Allow. This tells the system that it is 'okay to share this data with the supplier through DSDLink'. This applies to both suppliers accessing their distributor data in dsdlink AND suppliers accessing their data in SRS. If this data does not wish to be shared with suppliers, set SupplierDataAccess=Block.

  3. The "SuppliersVendors" record also needs a "DistributorNumber". This value is provided by SRS in the initial setup, and it tells their system what Location the data belongs to.

Fields And Definitions

  • SuppliersVendors.DistributorNumber: This value is provided by SRS. It is how they determine which Location the data belongs to.

  • SuppliersVendors.SupplierDataAccess: This value tells the system whether or not to share the data with the supplier via DSDLink. This works for both sending data to SRS and for suppliers accessing their data in DSDLink.

  • BrandFamily.SupplierReportCode: This value is maintained in DSDLink by Encompass employees. It is how SRS knows what supplier to provide the data to on their end.

Best Practices

  • Link All Products - Product linking cascades up through the Brand, BrandFamily, and Supplier. Product linking helps ensure a correct "BrandFamily.SupplierReportCode".
